Giraffes - Just How Tall?

Behold, the giraffe, the perfect model for the unfathomable mysteries of creation. These beautiful creatures grow to be very tall and use their long tongues to latch on to their vegetarian diet. The stuffed replicas, although beautiful, can't quite express the towering size of these elegant beauties.

Giraffes are the tallest mammals on earth! The male of the species can reach up to 19 feet tall while the females are typically just a little shorter at around 16 feet tall. Often times challenges between other giraffes are settled merely by how tall the giraffes are (the victor generally being the taller of the two).

Their full height is often stretched when eating, challenging other giraffes, or when involved in mating rituals. It's also good for seeing long distances.
